| Venue:The 2nd International Congress “Highlights in Assisted
Reproduction” will take place in the city of Alexandroupolis, during 25 & 26
of September 2004, in “THRAKI PALACE” Congress Center. Alexandroupolis is situated in northern Greece and it is the most eastern city of European Union. It was founded at 1878, today it has 35000 inhabitants and it is a fast growing city. Actually the city serves as a bridge between European Union, Asia and Balkan countries. The city hosts four Departments of the Democritus University of Thrace, the Medical School among them. Alexandroupolis is also a destination for holidays as it is located by the Thracian sea, having wonderful beaches even within the center of the city. In the surroundings of the city, there are two famous biotopes of international importance: Delta of Evros river and Dadia forest. There are also some important archeological sites as Messimvria, Maroneia and Avdira (hometown of Democritus, the ancient Greek philosopher). In a one hour distance, the island of Samothraki lies in the middle of Thrace Sea. The island was a famous religious center during the ancient and roman times, having the temple of Great Gods and today is a famous place for holidays. |
